On my shelf
I've been reading this book by Margaret Elphinstone for the past month or so...it's quite huge but it's become a pleasant habit. It's about an imaginary island called Hy Brasil, some people call it a phantom island. This was a myth created by the Irish and the island was believed to exist in the Atlantic.
At first I thought I'd have a hard time reading this: it seems a travel book and adventure book and that isn't usually my type. But I've grown fonder of the many characters (I feel like I know them all now) and mostly of the island. (At the beginning of the book there is a fictional map of the island and soon it's like you've already been there.) Right now I feel like going there...it must be amazing...but then I remember it isn't real! Bummer :(

What a beautiful cover! At first it looked like a hydra to me, with waving tentacles of hair. Only after a few viewing can I now see what it actually is.
lol The cover is inspiring, especially when next to the description of the island.
Day: Absolutely! :)
