Have you ever met anyone with the same name as you?
I guess for some people it isn't hard because some names are more common than others, which doesn't mean they're not lovely...My 1st name is very common in Portugal, but the last one isn't...so it was surreal finding someone in the Internet with practically the same name as me, living in the United States. She's a photographer, and a good one too.
Until now, I've heard of people with my name but never came across any. I can't help imagining this person as another version of me, I keep expecting her to share traits with me...I guess, as you'd imagine if you knew of a lost brother or sister. But she just shares my name so it's silly. Still, for me - that's a big thing!

I have never ever until a friend
named their daughter after me
and the exact way i spell it too!
that is cool! tonight i had a strange phone call, a lady asked me if i was natalie xxxxx(my last name) i said yes, and then she asked me if i used to live in tulsa, ok! i haven't but there must be someone with my name who used, too.
My name is common; every other person seems to have it!
Maybe you will meet the other you one day...
Day: I know what you mean, but I feel like the name is more personal than the birthday so it's more surreal. I really like your real name :)
Sophie: Oh, that's so sweet!
Natalie: What a coincidence! I wonder if, for a split second, you wondered if you hadn't really lived in Tulsa once and forgot about it hahah
Cathy: I've contacted the woman and we've sent each other photographs! It was so cool. We might be related, it's very likely!
My name is very common in my country. In fact, on Orkut, there is an exclusive community, for all those who have the same name! There are more than 140 people with the same name as me--needless to say i've joined :-)
Have you seen the film La double vie de Veronique? About one Veronique in France, and one Weronika in Poland. The film is about their very similar but separate lives. Wait for their meeting... AND listen to the music, it's absolutely amazing!
PS: Haha, that's funny too :) Lots of PSs having a good time together!
Scholiast: I'm feeling very curious now! I need to check that out. Thanks for the link!
Oh no, Devil mood! They just have the same first name--Preeti.so--not lots of Ps's --just me :-)
PS: Oh that's better :) I thought the last name would be shared too. For instance in Portugal you could form dozens of clubs with 'Fatima Silva' - very common name and last name ;)
I never meet people with my real first name! I was at a book reading, and the author was signing my book, and said my name was a story...
...one I might mention I am tired of telling in my real life, thus I became a novel nymph for my blog...
I have one of those uncommon last names too. Most people who have it are from the same 100 mile area where I was born and descended from the same guy who came here from Scotland 200 years ago. You'd think I'd have a bigger family.
mine is such a common name, there must be hundreds sharing it. in fact, i personally know atleast half a dozen of them. quite boring, eh? :)
Novel Nymph: Oh, that's great, it must be really original. But I hate when people can't spell unusual names or can't understand them at first...makes me wanna hit them! :P
Eric: You need to start a club with those people and make big parties. And when someone there calls someone by their last name, everybody looks and wonders if it's them :)
Dharmabum: Not necessarily, it's just different. But it's convenient sometimes; when you say "my name is X", they don't ask: "What? Excuse me?"
