this and that

Gustave Klimt's Music I (1895)

There's two days until the referendum on the abortion law I told you about. The latest poll suggests an advantage of 6% for the 'yes' vote - the vote that will allow the law to be changed. It seems to me like it's pretty close so voting will still be important. I'd still go and vote even if there was a 90% advantage in either side, but that's me - the competent citizen. haha Nevertheless I think the country is aware of the necessity to vote and avoid what happened eight years ago.

The weather has been crazy: rainy in the morning, radiant sunshine during most of the afternoon, stormy and thundery in the evening. You can't be bored really...

My dear Pandora has been keeping me company while I write. It's great way to get to know other artist you had no idea about. My current favourite is my Smoke City radio; last night it included Thievery Corporation, Bebel Gilberto, Portishead, Moloko, Massive Attack...
In my Tori Amos radio, I heard a song that introduced me to Lisa Miskovsky. Don't be fooled by her name, she's swedish. I fell in love with the song because it started like this...
You walk me through the park where all the dark spots lit by snow
You talk me through my part as if you're starring the snow
I hate you 'cause of the way these Gotham snowflakes lick your hair
I hate 'cause I need you, 'cause I know that you don't care
You remind me I'm no longer young
The song barely has a chorus, it's more like a beautifully sung poem.

Yawning like a housecat playing cruelly with the mouse
You're shouting cross the trenches to steal my peace of mind
It was you who killed the angels, you the greatest lover of all time
You're just a pretty thief now, in a universe of small crime
You remind me I'm no longer young

Lisa Miskovsky - "20th of December Madison Avenue"
I feel like I know someone like that, even if it's just in my imagination...

PS: Klimt is my favourite painter! Isn't it 'great minds think alike' or something like that? :)

Chloe: Try it one day. Maybe when you need a little cry.

Eric: Thanks for the 'nice' comment :)

DaY: I think it's very important,so I try to do my duty.

Holychaos: Maybe we all know someone like that; it's the kind of person that comes into our lives sometimes.

I have abig book on Klimt..he was way ahead of his time!..much of his work was thought to be indecent. To me it is richness and movement!

I like Moloko too (I believe the word means something interesting in Greek!)

Niall: I have two Klimt's in my walls (reproductions, needless to say). I love the colours, the goldens especially. I'll have to investigate that word Moloko.
