Down by the river Douro, it was a lovely afternoon.
Trouble was - the battery for my camera was low. I panicked because I couldn't take many photos...
So I took them really fast to make the most of the opportunity. I had gone down to the riverside, as Kimananda will enjoy to discover. What happens when you take photos in a rush is that they become sort of oblique, like this one.

This place is so lovely, with the little birdcage and the tables. Oh and the F.C. Porto flag, of course.

Hey - there are actually people in some of those!!! :)
hey devil, this is so much fun - its almost like actually walking with u along the streets of portugal...i mean, especially ur comments, make the whole thing so light and easy...thanks for sharing!
the rainbowish streak - is it really a rainbow or is it something to do with the lens and the lighting?
I lived in a small sea side town once for two years. That had a promenade too--somewhat like this one.I love your pictures,DM.You really have an knack of taking them.
Stephanie: I usually try to keep them out, as you've noticed, but here I couldn't. Maybe one day, I'll focus on the people instead of the places.
Dharmabum: I wish you could all come and walk with me. We'd have a lovely promenade ;)
That streak just happened, I didn't do anything, but if you looked at the sky you couldn't see it, probably some humidity from the river.
PS: One day I'll go to the seaside walk, this time I just went by the river a little bit. I'm realizing that I have a lucky eye for photos, because you wouldn't imagine how quick I had to take these, almost no time to think about them..
You do have a 'Lucky eye'..I hope the other eye is just as lucky :-) What a beautiful city!!
So thats where the Leaning Tower of Pisa architect ended up! ;)
Peter Crouch,
He's big,
He's red,
His feet stick out the bed,
Peter Crouch, Peter Crouch...
Unbelievable...right foot, left foot and a header!
It must have been his nose that was stopping him from heading properly ;)
He misses games due to a broken nose and surgery then returns and scores a hatrick!
I like these tours of Porto...its hard to take pictures of people...I mean do you want to have to ask strangers 'can I take your picture'...
i love your promendades@
and castles and oblique and....
dammed cars...
and i just love you!!!!
why are you not on flickr - i would give your
awards!
as usual, beautiful pictures...
i agree with Maddy...you need flickr
I wonder if those churches compete with each other...
Stellar photos, as always. ^_^
Niall: hehe, thanks :)
FB: That song is hilarious! Football chants can be very creative! I thought about tower of Pisa too. And, no, I don't picture myself asking people to take their photo, I'd have to do it rebelliously. ;)
Maddy (oh, you changed your name again!) you make me blush! Thank you Maybe one day I'll make a flickr archive :)
Holychaos: Thank you, and I'm thinking about it ;)
Eric: I think they compete only in the architectural terms because I'm not sure any of them has actual religious celebrations inside. Thanks!
Oh! This is like reading a story :)
Very beautifully taken and very beautifully written DevilM! :)
Miss Iyer: Thank you, I'm so happy you liked it! :)
Lovely pictures!
we have promenades in my city too
but they don't have pretty architecture around.

Chamki: It was my pleasure! Thanks!
