This is so cool!
I saw this on a blog and I had to put it here. It's from the australian newspaper Herald Sun.
If the girl isn't spinning, click on the picture.
And then observe: is she circling clockwise or counter-clockwise? Or does she spin both ways?
If you see her moving like the clock, the right-side of your brain is dominant over the other. If you see her counter-clockwise, it's the other way around. The left brain is more into logic, language and science. The right side is more into feeling, symbols and imagination. To read more about this, you can read the original article here.

I see clockwise. You?
counter. which was expected. my right brain is pretty much dead, actually :)
ooooo, it works, i tried focussing, and sure she does spin the other way around, that babe :)
so - not dead, after all. yaaaay!
Amazing!! You rock for posting this!
Clockwise... I tried hard to focus and see it go the other way, nothin'
Right brain it is... Darn.
I might blog this, too, if I run out of things to say this month! :) NaBloPoMo... Darn.
Is counter really possible?
Interesting! I did this a few days ago, and it took me forever to get the direction to change, and once it had changed, it took a long time to get it to switch back! Too bad I hadn't read about the significance of the spinning...at the moment, I see her spinning clockwise, but I am sure I am more a left-hemisphere dominated person, for all sorts of other reasons. I wonder if I first saw it counter-clockwise last time?
clockwise....
and of course it was a portugese
who did the cinematography~
makes such sense ~
they are truly poets !
as I clutch my cantigas to
my breast and sigh....
Clockwise then we all blog and blogging quite often is about feelings so I think its appropriate that most of us saw clockwise.
Yes..I initially saw her turning clockwise, but it is a matter of a little concentration and she turns counter..it goes to show that you can convince yourself to see what you want.I suppose the time to worry is when you see her walk out of the frame altogether!
so cool. I am going to watch it again
Hi again! Here is the link for where I saw the dancing girl first. The author is a neurologist who has some interesting things to say about this exercise and testing for hemisphere dominance...

Stephanie: Me too.
Dharmabum: Ah! Great discovery you made there :)
R2R: hehe Yes, it is. But Right brain is cool :) Of course you may post this.
Kim: Perhaps it's easier to start seeing her clockwise. That happened to me too, it was so odd. Thanks for the link, I want to know more about this :)
Maddie: :)
FB: That's an interesting theory. I wonder if this test isn't biased...
Niall: LOL Yes, I definitely agree!!
Holychaos: Don't get too dizzy, eh? :)
clockwise! that SO cool!
hehe Kristen ;)
Am i completely and utterly weird for recognizing 3 movements??????? i see her moving CLOCKWISE, ANTI-CLOCKWISE but if you look carefully...and it takes quite a bit of concentration to realise that she is really just SWINGING HER LEG FROM LEFT TO RIGHT(with her back turned to the viewer. so i really dont know what to answer lol....i wonder if it has anything to do with me being a LIBRA? weird tho.
Hi Anonymous!
Well, Libras are known for being able to see both perspectives, so I guess it'd make sense that if there was a 3rd option you'd see it too! :)
I haven't managed to see the 3rd option yet but well done for spotting that!
