Here's an important fact about portuguese people: they like to have their names written in the Guiness Book of Records and they'll do anything to get it.
So this Sunday, over 15000 people dressed up as Santa Claus and paraded through the streets. I don't know if they made it to the Guiness yet, but I do know that they think the important thing is to have been there. Because most of the them really like to be where the action is, so they'll dive into crowds and dress ridiculously because it's Christmas. And because it will make it to the book of records.
It was great for photographers though...

lol. seems like a great, vibrant place to live in!
That is an impressive slice of Christmas, right there in that photo. But probably quite uncomfortably crowded to actually be there.
at long last, a demonstration for a happy cause! x
Oh my goodness how festive,I love it!!
Ahm, if there are 15000 Santas does that mean 15000 surprises on Christmas morning??? maybe? :o)
Vesper: I believe if I had been there, I'd never be able to look at Santa again.
Chrispito: wow, I'm flattered :)
Mahima: It's been very vibrant of late, yes. Christmas gets people a little crazy.
Kim: I'm certainly not resenting not having been there...
Chloe: Yes and charity was involved too, with nice contributions. I was being too sarcastic to mention it ;)
R2R: We can dream, can't we?

Well, Boston had Santas in speedos. Luckily, I'm not there anymore.

Not only was it good for the photographers..I should imagine the Santa Suit manufacturer had a big grin too!
Niall: I think that means Chinese stores over here. They'll sell anything.
