ss - stranger

The day I became a stranger to my blog...

I don't know when it was exactly or what brought it but we've become estranged - me and my blog. I wouldn't call it a blogger's block, perhaps some kind of blog weariness. I miss the blogging interaction but things just aren't working for me right now. But worse than not blogging is blogging about not blogging so I won't bother you with that.

Strangers it is. I love strangers, they are the salt of life. No, seriously. If there were no strangers in the World...what could you aspire to? You'd never have a chance to meet anyone new. You wouldn't be able to take a bus ride and wonder about the people sitting next to you (you already knew them!), make up stories about their lives, wonder where they're going and what they're like, who's the other person they're talking to...no, none of that. You wouldn't be able to walk down the street a be surprised by someone you've seen, be amazed, be disgusted, be curious, watch someone completely distinct, doing something you've never seen before and that makes you chuckle to yourself and tell people about it when you get home from work. You wouldn't be able to wonder if there was another person in this World that shared a silly quirk with you, or that shared your ideas about grocery shopping or ate salad before the main course like you do.

So with this I have proven that strangers are the salt of life. And I blogged too.

Ms Mood: It happens, it happens. I'm sure that you, more than many of us, can peek into that chart of yours and see some hint of the tremors at play in your current blog walkabout. I hope that the time away feels healing and full of solace.

I liked your prose poem A LOT. It captured things wonderfully, along with the cool image. All of it felt like Ms Duffy's "Steppin Stone," playing along as I read your post.

Peace to you, amiga.

I can understand blog weariness. I suppose most hobbies wax and wane. But I've set myself the task of publishing a new poem every day until I fall off the twig so I dare not 'wane'!

So true!! every stranger is a potential friend.
But sometimes we don't want so many friends :-)
Love the way you wrote this--and you blogged too:-)
Cheers

what an adorable theory on strangers! and YES you wrote a GREAT blog post in the process. I have also felt that blog funk AND also wrote about it. I think it's bound to happen, but hopefully some stranger will totally inspire you.. and You'll be back on a first name basis with your blog. :))
I will surely visit again!

I definitely miss your blogging, but I understand that we all go through phases.

And yes, strangers are the best.

Yes, on the day we know everyone, we'll begin a slow decline.

Hehe I love those thoughts! That is wonderful thinking of strangers as future friends, or exciting flings, or as secret agents or anything... lovely post :)

Yup, you make a lot of sense!

I love people watching. If I simply can't think of something to blog about, I listen in to strangers. It works, and by the look of it,it's worked for you too!

I really like the idea of strangers as future friend! Blog weariness does set in from time to time. Just remember that it isn't a life sentence.

Well done...I can surely relate to this. Nice that you rallied!

Oh dear, so much sadness on my SS comments journey so far. Granny Smith on getting old and you about your blog getting old… I’ve definitely felt the difference in you lately. I’m different too—I’m spotty about blogging, there’s no neighborhood feel, I’m distanced—but that’s always been me… But here you are and you bring up your usual keen questions and observations. I really like the silly quirk point of interest and, all in all, you have certainly presented a convincing argument that strangers are the salt of life :-)

I guess the thing is, not to beat your self up over it...I think it's good to discipline ones self to write..but there is nothing so tiresome as trying to read something that lacks passion or inspiration.Your writing here always communicates something weather it be sadness or joy or wonderment or frustration...and I love to read whatever you write.

I love to sit in coffee shops and always choose th ewindpw seat...watching strangers is a joy..that moment when you sometimes catch someones eye..you look into a life you've never known..a person you'll probably never see again...Do you love looking out over other peoples houses when you're on a train?..Gardens full of carefully planted borders (or not) children's swings/slides..washing up to dry..and try to imagine the lives and stories that lie there in that small plot of land and bricks.

Wow, lots of blog weary people out there. After 3 years of blogging I'm thinking of shutting mine down altogether, it seems to get harder all the time. I would miss all the friends I've made though...ciao

When I get blog burnout I just take a break. The prompts and my blog friends always nudge me along.

I enjoyed your take on strangers. They are very entertaining. lol

i think you should make yourself write again, not because you don't deserve a break, but because blogging for me would suck if you didn't. x

strangers are fascinating, but we are even more fascinating if we pay attention to ourselves....don't judge yourself for estrangement (? a word)...all things ebb and flow.

Blog weariness is affecting my Over Forty Shades blog, (though not my Crafty green Poet blog), so I can relate.

I can also relate to what you say about strangers, I have had many happy conversations with strangers,

i love strangers, for they come and go, with just that ease. i think i have written about strange encounters, more often than now ;)
PS: been feeling that way about my own blog too, and for a while now, in spurts though...
