Great film...probably Cher's best moment on film. I like Bob Hoskins too.

I'd forgotten about this movie! Now I feel the need to revisit it, along with Thelma & Louise : )

When I was little, I used to have a huge crush on Christina Ricci and, because we are roughly the same age, I always thought I'd end up going out with her. That was some odd thinking, even for me.

I don't have speakers to listen to this song but is it the Harry Belafonte one? If not, you deserve to hear these lyrics (although I'm not sure I agree):

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life,
Never make a pretty woman your wife.
So from my personal point of view,
Get an ugly girl to marry you.

A pretty woman makes her husband look small,
And very often causes his downfall.
As soon as he marries her, then she starts,
To do the things that will break his heart.

But if you make an ugly woman your wife,
You'll be happy for the rest of your life.
An ugly woman cooks meals all the time,
She'll always give you peace of mind.

Don't let your friends say you have no taste,
Go ahead and marry anyway.
Her face is ugly, her eyes don't match.
Take it from me, she's a better catch.

Say, man?
Hey baby!
I saw your wife the other day.
Yeah, and she's sure is ugly. Ha!
Yeah, she's ugly, but she sure can cook, baby!
Yeah, alright.
Unfortunately, she has acne.
That's a shame, baby.
Yeah, baby.

Sir Barrett: HAHAHA! Yes, that's the song! Thanks for the lyrics. I have to say I sing it all the time but hadn't quite gathered what they were saying, if that's possible. :)
