Listening to...

Dusty Springfield - The Look of Love

This song was part of my soundtrack of 2005. It makes me feel like floating, in love. Floating in the waves of love, if I can put it in the cheesiest way. But later, I noticed that the song features in about two hundred films. It was horrible - every film I saw had a little bit of the Look of Love. The film industry is crying out for originality.

Aha: The Duffy connection. So many folks covering this - Diana Krall, Sergio Mendes, Ronald Isley and Bacharach himself, surely Streisand weighed in somewhere, too - I sometimes forget Dusty's smoky-voiced first take before all of them. Sexy indeed.

Murat: oh my, you've been digging through my blog mines. This post is old! lol I've heard a couple of the versions you mentioned but none topped this one. A classic!

I agree. She is la diva primera on this classic. The smokiness in her voice is sublime...
