Tuesday mix

(this was a picture taking during the Euro 2004 in Portugal - these girls are looking all patriotic like me lol)

Good news! I'm having a couple of days off next week due to the Carnival! Wonderful latin culture with holidays whenever it's possible :) We like to work as little as we can, as you can guess from my constant moaning. :P
I was watching the football and Benfica winning over Liverpool. I was happy, despite hating Benfica. I really, really do hate them because Benfica are the main Porto rivals. But tonight I found myself being all patriotic. Me, a patriot, I never...Of course, as I said to the Liverpool fan - Finn Liverpool have every chance of going through because Benfica is a really limited side.
I have a report to write so I can't write much more. I'll be back tomorrow :) I hope you're all doing fine!

So, Chloe's comment to you on her blog has gotten me to check out your blog instead. And, no, I'm not Fernanda from Portugal. :-) I'm just kimananda who lived in Lisbon for 6 years, and felt very much a vontade there.

That is one thing I definitely miss about Portugal, the holidays (my favorite is Corpo do Deus, just 'cause I like the name)...here in Denmark, there used to be lots of religious holidays, and then some king combined them all into only one day. Can you believe it? So, where in Portgual are you exactly?

Chloe: Viva! No, I don't think I'm going to dress up but being free for a couple of days is good enough for me :) I might dress up as Devil Mood - bad joke ;)

Kimananda: Sorry, I thought that name could be something like Kim and Nanda...I don't know, it just sounded very portuguese. So you lived in Lisbon? That's really interesting! :) I live in Porto. Corpo de Deus must be the most forgotten of all religious holidays, people are jsut glad to have a day off in June ;) We would probably start a revolution if someone decided to take our holidays away from us...

FB: Don't worry, you still have one game at home. Who starts the game with Gerrard on the bench anyway? Liverpool didn't want to win.

Thank you so much for the postcard! I'm torn about my holiday: warm and beachy, or another trip to the U.K? I have two days off next week too, but for me it's just because I was going to go to a concert. Now I'm not, but it will be good to just relax for a few days. Good luck with the report, and have fun on the days off!

I love Porto, and have been there several times, either specifically to visit, or passing through to go to the Minho, Tras-os-Montes, or Galicia. I would show off my 'local' knowledge by telling you all about my favorite famous cafe, the one I always go to even if I'm just in Porto for a half hour...but I can't remember the name! You know the one, not far from the train station in the center, lots of glass, very old? I'm pretty sure it's on or just off of the Avenida dos Aliados.

Stephanie: You're welcome :) That's a difficult decision to make but a good one. You've been mentioning the spas and the sun so maybe you should try something exotic. That's just a guess. Enjoy your days off :)

Kimananda: You must be talking about Majestic, right? It's really funny to see these portuguese words and directions in my blog, especially written by someone I would never guess knew so much about Portugal :)

Valerene: Maybe it's in some people's genes, I don't know. I just watched Chelsea-Barcelona and it was thrilling - but I'm sure many people wouldn't think the same thing. :)

Madelyn: I'm not doing anything special for Carnival - it's more for kids these days. But I'll enjoy myself my way, Carnival or not :)
