Can't get you out of my head

I can't get away from this song by Johnny Cash...it keeps twisting and turning in my head and it's addictive. Well, in this case it's the version Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon made for the film Walk the Line.
I don't think I was ever interested in something slightly country but today I feel like wearing those big skirts and boots and dancing and singing to this song, which is not very appropriate considering that there's a family crisis going on.
But most of all I feel bored today, going to work took the energy and motivation I had left. I can't wait til May...
How about you? Enlighten me: what song can't you get out of your head?

Go lightly from the ledge, babe
Go lightly on the ground
I'm not the one you want, babe
I'll only let you down
You say you're lookin' for someone
Who'll promise never to part
Someone to close his eyes to you
Someone to close his heart
Someone to die for you and more
But it ain't me, babe
No no no it ain't me babe
It ain't me your looking for, babe

It ain't me babe - Johnny Cash

I can't wait to see the movie. I was never a really big Johny Cash fan, but something tells me I could really get into his music.

I blogged about mine today too. Our lives might be parallel right now. Too bad about the sad bits though :(

I just saw Walk the Line last night, so weird too that you blog about that in particular. A guy from one of my favorite bands (Dan John Miller from Blanche) is in the movie as his guitar player, Luther Perkins.

What a great song...I've never heard the Johnny Cash version, but the Dylan version is one of my favorites. Very folky.

As for music that I can't get out of my head, I'm not sure really. Usually whatever I've been listening to recently just kinda stays for a while. But that doesn't happen that often.

Some country is pretty cool: Cash, Ryan Adams, Kathreen Edwards, Wilco...

Nevets: What's SFA? I agree on the escapism part :)

Cathy: I haven't seen the movie but it must be good. I don't know much of Cash's music either but I agree - it could be something there.

Stephanie: Coincidences again! I haven't seen the film but I hope to do so. I'll look out for Dan Miller - he is cute? ;) he he kidding!

Kimananda: Yes, Bob Dylan has his own version too, actually I don't know if the song is originally his. I'm glad songs don't persecute you like they do to me ;)

Christopher: I can't say I dislike any particular genre of music, it just depends on the mood I'm in.

Madelyn: Oh you and James Blunt ;)

Day: I'm sorry, but you've got your beads to cheer you up, right? :)

Valerene: I'll probably do the same, sounds like a good film.

Connie: Thanks Connie! I hope you enjoy the film - it's one of the pleasures of life, being absorbed into other people's stories.
