Who's grumpier: cats or women?

Hmmm...a bowl of chocolate ice cream in front of me - would you be able to resist?

I'm feeling very much like Carrie Bradshaw at the moment: I don't think I have mentioned that I am now a proud owner of a laptop with a wireless connection. I'd be happy to have one without Internet access but this way it's even better. But why do I feel like Carrie? Because I'm sitting in my bed typing and blogging and wondering what the hell I'm going to write about. Carrie looked for inspiration in men and her relationships...men ha ha I could go that way and never talk about anything else but I'm not giving them that much credit. There was an article on british newspapers today that said women are grumpier than men in the morning - I know I am. I hate talking in the morning, I just can't believe I have to get up and be conscious and interact - it's very hard. I don't know if the study explained this difference, I didn't care to elaborate - I was still feeling grumpy. lol

Speaking of gender differences, I'm reading Howards End by E.M. Forster (I don't know why the hell I thought I'd enjoy a Modern Classic). It is nice, some bits are extremely philosophical and wonderful if you want to "think hard" but it isn't easy to understand most of the social issues that he writes about. The book was written 1910 and the century that has gone by brought a lot of social changes. It is especially noticeable when he talks about gender: gender differences are very accentuated and he often writes "If she wasn't a woman, he would have said...", or "considering her sex..." - it's quite funny sometimes.

I especially liked this bit (the characters of the book are 2 sisters):
"...yet he scarcely distinguished between the two sisters. One was more beautiful and more lively, but 'the Miss Schegels' still remained a composite Indian god, whose waving arms and contradictory speeches were the product of a single mind."

Well, it's the morning now (technically) and I'm not grumpy. ;-) But I am definitely one woman who's always the grumpiest in the house when I wake up.

Sophie: No, the sisters' contradictory speeches...they felt to him like they were the product of a single mind. :) Well, I'm glad there are exceptions to the room.

Kimananda: I'm not grumpy neither, but I will once I go to sleep. ;)

I am terribly grumpy in the morning as well, and I have fallen in love with my wireless laptop so I can appreciate where you are!

Lady Miss: Oh :) I love Audrey Hepburn too, so there's something else we have in common.

Chloe: Yes, that's more or less how I feel. I can't socialize much early in the morning.

FB: Yes and horrible socks too. I should've thought about what I was going to wear before taking the picture :P

Day: I know, cats are totally unpredictable. These cats are very sweet but sometimes they get their claws out and destroy my hands...I get really disappointed then ...
