Carnival

It's Carnival over here, others may call it Mardi Gras or something like that, but over here it's Carnival or "Entrudo" - a more serious word.
It's a holiday, one of many we have in this country where nobody seems to work much anyway, and it's known for eating all the meat you can (yikes!) and getting inside a costume and throwing confetti. As I don't eat meat, I had pizza; and I usually leave the costumes to the kids. Can't remember the last time I dressed up for Carnival, but it can be fun. More and more adults are trying to join in the fun and immitate the brazilian parades in the streets. There's one slight difference no-one seems to notice - it's Winter here and it's no fun wandering the streets in glittery bikinis. Well, at least for me!

But it's sunny again! It's amazing how the light changes everything. How light IS everything. Yesterday I was a little grumpy, I wasn't at my worst and it wasn't a cry for help, or anything like that. I just didn't know what else to write. I certainly wasn't looking for or expecting all of your praises. Nevertheless it was very nice and I thank you! But I won't do that again. Or at least I'll add a note, saying 'I'll be fine, just my mood swings..."

sounds like fun!

i'm glad that it is sunny...

i used to dread the winter months in Tennessee because of the snow...at first it was pretty, but then i was stuck in the house for days! one time for two weeks!

i always used to look forward to feb being over which meant that spring was on its way!

Chris: You'd be very welcome, I'm sure.

Holychaos: It was sunny yesterday, it's cloudy today, we haven't had constant weather for weeks. Yes, spring is coming soon!

DaY: Oh, I get it. But, yes, you're right, we all have grumpy days.

Dharmabum: Very true, everything passes eventually.

Ps: I don't find it particularly amusing, but at least it's colourful!

Sophie: No, you should come in June, better weather, but also plenty of festivities ;)

I think the further north you travel..you find less and less inclination to wear gold glittery bikini's in the streets of February. Here in Derbyshire we 'Shrove-tide football'.It's a tradition dating back over 100 years! You'll have to look it up on Google! It's not actually 'foot'ball..but thousands of people in each team trying to get the ball into goals separated by a town (Ashbourne)..madness!

Incidentally..we love your 'moods'..

Niall: That sounds like a must-see! I can't help but remember those scandinavians that take baths in those heated outside "pools" and then run through the snow like there's no tomorrow. haha :)
Thanks ;)

Niall: That's the case when a zero makes a big difference!
