the first summerlike things

Random facts about my last days:

- I've written around 6,400 words and managed to get some boring parts over and done with (even in the most creative work, there are dull bits that you don't like doing);

- I had to kill one of the main characters for now (maybe she's just hibernating), so now we have a 2 stories and not 3, simply because I can't think of anything to write about. I'm focusing on the two characters that are 'alive' at the moment and maybe the other one will be reborn soon. (any ideas? guidelines: she needs to go through some kind of change in her life, something that will tie her down and be uncomfortable and a burden, she'll have to make sacrifices but she'll pull through and gain hope again).

- Roland Garros is turning into something very predictable - Hénin and Nadal don't have competitors to match on that ground. I like sports that are a little more competitive. Unbeatable people don't do it for me.

- I bought 2 bikinis, which was an amazing accomplishment because as we know (we, women) bathing suits and such are the toughest things to get right, along with jeans...

- It was my Dad's birthday and we had the first summer dinner - meaning barbecue, salads, lots of appetizers and desserts. And, of course, dinning in the terrace.

Where there's always an operation and a stay in hospital for the upwardly mobile to slow them down and yake stock of themselves and life or being left with a pet, child or long lost relative!

How about some food porn from the BBQ?

The French Open promises so much but ultimately Henin and Nadal make it to the final and you know what's going to happen. I used to be a big tenis fan when Agassi and Sampras were going at it.

FB: Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures of the food, I was too busy...eating. :P
You should be writing a script too, you have more experience in that department!

Dharmabum: Yes, without TV you can only catch it life and it's not too easy - mind you, there's a tennis court in front of my house and there are always people playing (no Federers or Nadals though ;)
hehe crazy bum ;)

Holychaos: Oh my, that's really hot! Hope it's cooled down, it certainly has over here. Agassi was a real champion, wasn't he?

happy birthday to your dad.
and you've written 6.500 words and you tell me you don't do enough?
you deserve those bikinis :)

Niall: I'm afraid my imagination won't be stretched so far. I have trouble imagining things that are too far beyond reality. Vampires wouldn't really fit in but thanks for the idea.

Chloe: thank you. I've done around 9000 now ;) I worked hard for those bikinis haha

What lovely images, Devil. T

The food sounds wonderful ... I love BBQ days ... we are past those at the moment.

Tennis is great to watch, but I agree ... it is know fun when it is predictable.

Congrats on finding the perfect bikini.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Take care, Meow

Meow: Thank you, glad you liked the pictures. We are always doing opposite things, aren't we? Take care of yourself :)

Congrats on the 9000 words and the bikinis ;-)

Thanks Preeti and I'd be so pleased if I inspired you to write! There is a version of this project for novels called NaNoWriMo - don't know if you've heard of it - it takes place in November, maybe you can join!

Yay for bathing suits that fit! I'm not looking forward to that...but hey, it's winter here anyway :)

It was so weird to travel from summer in Boston, to winter in Melbourne/Sydney, back to summer in Boston, and then...probably back again. Now I'm confused.

Anyway, happy summer to you!
