Sunday Scribblings - "I just don't get it..."

Oh don't get me started! I say this all the time.
The trouble with this prompt is that it's a very transient phase of my thinking process. I'll explain. I'm very curious about things I don't get. I'm not necessarily curious about everything, I leave that to the Geminis of the World, but I'm suspicious of things that make no sense to my inner logic. So whenever I'm faced with something puzzling, I immediately try to figure it out. No compulsively, but with gusto. Investigate, study, ask, search, dig...whatever it takes.
When my curiosity is satisfied, I sigh and the event is no longer part of my list of "I don't get it's". It is also likely that I forget what the explanation was altogether; as long as it isn't a mystery anymore I'm fine with that.

This goes for the more practical, logical facts of life but I'm not one to use the same strategy and perspective to all other aspects. There's no denying that mystery is one of the most exciting and beautiful things in life, that's why Einstein mentioned it frequently in his famous quotes.

To be fair, even if I couldn't bear to live surrounded by so many unsolved mysteries (which isn't even the case), there's no way I could ever quench my thirst for an answer (what could I do? Start a quest for the Truth?). You can either accept the presence of the unknown (and simply wonder) or you can dedicate your life to trying to solve one or two mysteries (the scientists' option). Alternatively, there are some people who are so uncomfortable around the uncertainty and, above all, the lack of control, that they keep denying the existence of anything that isn't logic, objective and visible, anything that isn't 1 + 1 = 2.
It's their right to do so, just as long as they don't go around depriving other people from the enchantment of life's mysteries. Those are the ones that laugh off anything that transcends palpable reality. They're the kind that usually wrinkle their noses and say: "Astrology? I just don't get how you could be into that stuff...".

No, you don't. You just don't get it.

More misunderstandings and such here.

well i am an ever questioning gemini... i have found that i fall categorically in the pot with other gemini's but i really know nothing more about astrology... i do know i believe in free will,, and even tho i traverse the unknown a bit on my own... i have forever been way to lazy to actually study the stars....

i am glad there are people like you that have been more motivated and can fill me in should i be desirous of an answer or explanation.....

it's a magic that only some people understand.

It's so much easier to be dumb than curious! I don't get that people still don't know that astrology is the earliest form of the sciences ... NOT hocus pocus? Thankfully people like us don't take the easy way out by leaving our heads buried in the sand! Well said as always ;)

I like not getting it. If I got everything there would be nothing to get and that would be boring!

Paisley: Yes, of course. Perhaps Astrology hasn't called you yet, which doesn't mean it won't one day.

Vesper: If you mean the magic of the mystery, I agree.

Gautami: Who? What?

Holychaos: lol that's a classic kids phrase, isn't it? You don't get it Mum!

Redness: That's true,it's not hocus pocus lol but we can't force them to understand if people don't want to, perhaps they're not ready yet.

Keith: Of course! That's what I mean about the beauty of the mystery.

Loved the way you expressed yourself in the last sentence. To be honest, I'm like that too--I have to figure out things. And I do agree so much about the '1+1=2' kind of people too.I had one like that in my life--and sometimes they are just plain darn pains!

I am that stubborn old Capricorn, but I do believe that people always need to ask questions and be curious. Excellent post.

I have always been open minded on things I can't prove. I love the mysteries of life and I do think planets are a very inportant piece of the puzzle.

I don't get why people are interested in questioning your interest in astrology. Frankly, it's none of their business why you choose one symbolic language over another.
I love astrology. If all people know is their sun sign, that's a shame I think, as the whole chart is quite beautiful...seeing those mathematical links between planets in the sky? The movement of the stars?
Lovely. Like you!

Curiosity is a fine thing. I'm always on a quest(ion) to learn something, to disprove something (which is how I found astrology), and I'm appalled at the number of people who accept any and everything without question. Good post!

People have limits....
As a uranian person, I love shocking limited people :D
Even if they have the same limit I used to have, and I respect it.
It's fun to have people think you're crazy sometimes, I get a serious kick out of it.
How's uranus positioned in your chart?

PS: We shouldn't let them upset us so much. Us Sagittarius think we know the Truth and, being so generous, we want to share it with others. But sometimes others don't want to. Let them be ;)

Madelyn: :) Of course you do.

InlandEmpireGirl: Thanks. You can be stubborn but still want to learn and that's good.

Tammy: That's the way to go, at least in my book ;)

Chrispito: hehe thanks. Well, I was just giving an example, it's not that it happens to me often. But you know why not? Because I generally keep it to myself when I feel that people are not very open-minded. My country is a bit "retrograde" in that sense..and religious. It's a shame, as you say. Slowly I've been converting one or two though ;)

Tumblewords: You added another important point. I was thinking about the people who don't accept anything, but those who accept anything are problematic too!

Violet: lol I don't do that at all. I keep quiet, as I was saying to Chrispito. My cousin is like you and it's fun to watch. ;) My Uranus is in the 8th, low-key.
