remember when you used to go for walks with me?

When the ideas aren't abundant, it's nice that I have pictures to post, at least. City hall, you've seen it a thousand times, I'm sure.

I wonder if these trees will ever have leaves. Every other tree is now green, what's up with you lot?

I was thinking how everyone seems to want something for nothing. Are we all deluded? Why do we expect life to be a massive lottery ticket? When will we learn the value of things, the real things?

Game of shadows. You can't really see it but on the right side of the picture there is a little shirt hanging. It's red, it has a number 7 on the back and it says Ronaldo. Everywhere.

See those letterings in the other margin? That's the port wine caves.

This is just another proof that where there's light, there's shadows. It's an idea that Liz Greene is very insistant about and rightly so. The bigger the object, the bigger the shadow it casts. It works for people too and I don't mean in terms of body mass.

Place to buy and sell old books. Alfarrabista, that's the word.

I was just discussing the whole urban tree thing yesterday. It is autumn here now.

Where I come from (small town New England)the trees erupt in a blaze of color as they give up their leaves for the winter, and when spring springs...it springs EVERYWHERE. (Ask my allergies, they know.)

Since I've been an urban dweller, I've notices leaves that go from green to brown to gone (except maybe in the parks) and then take longer than the rest to come back. It must be quite a struggle for them to get what they need through those little open patches in the footpath.

Great photos. It was like a personal tour of the city.

Mamma Kim: How are YOUUUUU? :))))

Stephanie: Yes, that's true! There are some places where the pavement is broken because the roots have grown so much down there. The poor trees feeling asfixiated :(

Dr.John: Glad you liked them. It was meant to be personal.

I like the 'cave' photo...infact, i like them all..Porto appears to be a very clean city with a happy residence of the modern sitting comfortably with the old ( I'm refering to the buildings )..and yes..I can see the ronaldo shirt..he gets everywhere!!...now he's off to Red Square!

Both you and Chloe live in such beautiful countries! America feels too young and devoid compared. You LOOK lucky...do you feel lucky? :-)

I enjoyed taking this photo tour with you this evening. :)

Niall: I'm afraid you are completely wrong! LOL This is not a clean city and most of the architecture is hideous. I'm serious. The old buildings are very degraded and there seems to be an absense of order, as if anyone can build anything they desire.

MissAlister: Not really, don't feel very lucky. lol America sure is young compared to this part of Porto but it's definitely not devoid. You've got so much space, lawns, beautiful houses, not to mention a thousand more opportunities ;)

Susanna: Thank you and thanks for visiting me :)

LOL! I should have known! Naturally, I’d have taken only the best pics around here if I was going post them! I’ll never learn the truth behind the grass is greener theory! Like hating time it’s always been one of my pet psychological glitches! hehe

I just adore your city; the city hall also looks like worth a visit;)

MissAlister: Yes, it would be painful to photograph really ugly buildings, at least to me. I'm reasonably aesthetic ;)

Aathira: I've never been inside the city hall but it must be alright ;) thanks!

I've never been to Portugal but my offspring spent a month there a few years ago and loved the architecture. He actually thought he might like to live there. He brought back some wonderful photos. It's a country I will have to visit some day...ciao

Rositta, oh that's nice! I'm sure you'd like it. It's a relaxed place but with lots of different landscapes and nice things to see.

Miss Iyer: I'm glad you like them! :)
