Oh golden days... when you couldn't wait for early morning to go and watch cartoons on TV.
I really LOVED Alice in Wonderland, I had those booklets where you glue the stickers - what's that called? - and the booklet was so pretty. I still have that somewhere.
I liked it when Alice sat on the tea-table, the rabbit always telling her they were late, but something strange happened at the table - what was it?
And I liked the caterpillar that sat on the mushroom smoking and making smoke rings...
Everything was so crazy in that upside-down world.
I found a portuguese version of this intro, but it must be more recent because when I watched it the song was in german, exactly like this.
Ah, thank God for Youtube :)

Finally--something you like and I dont! For some reason,as a child, I used to hate 'Alice in wonderland'. Even now, that is one book I havent read to my kids.(They can read it on their own if they like!)
I do agree with you on your comment abt youtube--yep--thank god for youtube :-)
Alice was one of my favorites when I was younger. I'll have to watch the video when I'm not the only one awake! Oh, if you're suffering from insomnia, my page 123 is up now (well, actually I chose a more interesting book, so maybe it isn't the best soporific).
i have never seen Alice in Wonderland!!!
I as just thinking yesterday that I need to!
Did you see the movie "The Last Whimzey?"
It mentions "Alice in Wonderland"
i love alice in wonderland too!!!
t has these unfrgettable lines which were funny then and are funny and make sense now.
like when alice asks te cat where which way to go and the cat says where do you want to reach and alice says i don't much care. and he cat says then it doesn't much matter which way you go.
love,m
on another of my sneaky trips back. no post this time. just a sneaky way to post...a long comment. lol.
I've gotta agree with "ps" ... Alice In Wonderland is one book I've never liked. I don't think my daughter has ever liked it much, either. Such a shame, though, as there are some wonderful characters in it. I've always loved the white rabbit !! (I do know the story, I just don't like it very much !!).
Hope all is well in your world.
Take care, Meow
PS: It had to happen one day ;) I think Alice has layers of meanings, for kids, for teenagers, for adults. It's quirky but I like it.
Kim: hehe watch it, it's fun to hear Alice im Wunderland ;) It was soporific, after all.
Holychaos: I didn't see that movie. Is it good? I watched an Alice movie once but I didn't like it very much, I thought the series was much better, even though I rarely remember anything now :P
Mahima: It does, it makes perfect sense! I think Alice is full of meanings, for grown-ups as well. hehehe posting through comments, that's great! ;)
Meow: Maybe it's one of those things we can't explain - why we like it or why we don't. It happens a lot when we're kids, it's an instinct :) I'm fine, hope you're too.
Man....I remember those sundays too..waiting and sitting in front of Tv...it was one cool show...Rabbit...catterpillar...queen...so many things...
just wonderful!!!
I've never seen any films -- but I finally got round to reading the book a few years back. "Everyone" has been talking about it. And I was SO disappointed. I mean, I bought the whole thing and it was ok, but then the ending? Hello??! How could that be interesting? Destroyed it all for me, sorry...
... that being said, when I grew up, there was no morning television. (Yes, I'm that old!) There was only the supercorrect, ultrapedagogical children's tv from 6-6.30 pm. Which is still on but less correct these days ;)
Standbymind: It's so interesting that you have those memories too! :)
Scholiast: I haven't read it yet because I only have the second book and need to read the 1st first, so I can't comment on that. I'm sure you have healthier childhood memories, doing activities instead of sitting in front of the tv ;)
I've never seen this cartoon..quite 'Manga'looking?..Lewis Carol was quite an individual..interesting use of hallucinogenis substances!
Niall: I'm sure he was completely out of his mind, but as long as I don't have to deal with him in person, it's all good :)
