and the frenzy begins

The countdown begins to Script Frenzy.

"What is that?" you may ask. Well, I'll tell you.

It's one of those writing projects, where you are invited to write for an entire month until you reach a certain goal. This time, you're invited to write a stage play or a screenplay with 20,000 words during the month of June. So it starts tomorrow.
This means you have to write over 600 words a day - that's not a problem, the problem is having solid ideas and following them. I have some ideas but they're still very blurry so I have to hurry up and do some kind of a plan. I have a lot of trouble finishing things that I start writing so this is an interesting challenge for me. It's also an opportunity to write something completely different. For starters it's a screenplay - I've never written anything like that. But whenever I write fiction there's always a film going on in my head, so I have no trouble visualizing things.
Maybe I should be doing other important things. After all, I won't get any awards from this, apart from a certificate or something that will tell me that I made it, but it might be an important boost for me because I've been feeling completely worthless lately. If I reach the end of this, even if I wrote a load of rubbish from beginning to end, at least I'll have reached a goal, at least I was persistent, at least I didn't give up.

That sounds so cool! I'm tempted to join, but I think it's best to wait until I write my novel in November...I don't think the stories in my head are a screenplay.

On the other hand, it could be that the stories in my head are a screenplay after all, and I just don't know it...hmmm, I'll have to go think about this for a while....

You must write!
You know how we need a little push sometimes to make great things. I think this exercise is giving you enough freedom to go ahead and do it as well.

lotsa love,
report progress,
chamki

Worthless!!?????How dare you say that!..you are one of my most favourite people to comment on my work..you do so regularly..I value all you say. You provide me in dismal dark and grey UK with a window on a beautiful part of Europe..your quirky sense of humour..love of football..and brilliant little clips chosen from 'youtube' makes you will be someone I always listen to.

You write in a very honest and open way..Devil...take up your pen!

Kim: You are winning the championship of first comments over here! You'll be writing a novel? That's fantastic! Not to put any pressure on you, but I would like to read that ;)
The screenplay will be a bit tricky because unlike novels, we can't say what's really behind every action..

Chamki: I think so too! Thanks for the support and I will be blogging about that for sure (I'll probably be nuts by next week) ;)

Niall: I'm really happy that you like my comments and I never thought they were worthless, otherwise I wouldn't write them, but, in this life, we have so much to prove everywhere, it takes its toll on me. But thank you very much for all the compliments, you have a way of cheering me up. :)

sometimes i wonder if there really needs to be a goal all the time...

and what the devil? if YOU start feeling worthless, what about bums like us huh? :) *hugs*

good luck my dear friend, let the words flow!

FB: Wow, thank you! I hope so :)

Miss Iyer: Thank you, I'm finding that 20000 words isn't too much at all, maybe I'll have to write more...

Dharmabum: If all bums were like you, there would be a bum-religion teaching us how to live our lives well :) *hugs back at you* thanks!

Sounds something like the NANOWRIMO in november ... good luck with it, I couldn't manage it in November ... too many things to do, not enough time to write, unfortunately.
Are you going to share with us what you wrote ??
Take care, Meow

Devil Mood said...

Meow: Yes, this is a project by the same authors as NaNoWriMo. But that demands 50,000 - it takes much more time, I suppose. Maybe next November, no? ;) Share it? Well, I'll see how it comes out.
